Chapter 322 - Love Near-fetched (Part Three)

Chapter 322: Love Near-fetched (Part Three)

Since Zhao Anan had already tossed the garlic into the dustbin, Mu Qing had to pretend that he didn’t have any of it left with him. He couldn’t possibly say to Zheng Jing that he had some which his wife didn’t want him to give away.

It was okay to trick friends, but Mu Qing was not going to trick his wife!

Also, Zhao Anan talked to him in such a bossy way making him feel as if she regarded him as her man. That greatly pleased Mu Qing warming his heart.

He picked a piece of meat with eggplants and delivered it to Zhao Anan’s lips. “Try the eggplant, that is the first dish you made, wonderful!”

Zhao Anan ate as she smiled brightly, not caring that Mu Qing had tried the food with this very pair of chopsticks earlier.

“Very good, very good! It is tasty! I didn’t know that I could cook so well. Why didn’t I notice that before?”

Oh lady, it was not you who cooked, it was me, okay!!

What you had done was cut the eggplants whilst I was the one that did the woking and seasoning. What you did was to scream about the fire, the oil, all the time standing next to me.

But Mu Qing didn’t say what he had in mind. As long as Zhao Anan was pleased by what he made, he was very happy.

He hadn’t had such a harmonious moment with Zhao Anan for a long time.

She had behaved cruelly with him just to push him away in the past. After Zhao Anan broke up with him, he had thought about marrying some other woman. If he couldn’t marry Zhao Anan, it would not matter whomever he married. As long as the woman would bring good things for Family Mu, it wouldn’t matter even if she was ugly.

In Mu Qing’s eyes, there were only two kinds of women – Zhao Anan and the other women.

But now when Zhao Anan was right next to him, he swore that he was never going to let her go away ever again.

He was definitely going to find the perfect solution to cure her disease. He was a top notch doctor and his family had been devoted to medicine for a long time. He was gifted and had read a lot of medical books. He was best at solving complicated issues.

He wasn’t able to fix bulbs or decode a complicated code. He couldn’t even speak a third language apart from English and Chinese. But he was a doctor who could bring the dead back to life!

Mu Qing felt very lucky that he was a doctor. If he were not, Zhao Anan might have already gone away.

The cancer cells spread very fast. If he had not noticed that so early, Zhao Anan would have needed to get her womb removed at least, or she would have been given a very short lifespan.

But now, ten years had passed since the cancer cells first spread in her body.

Although the disease returned during the decade, yet it had been a great medical achievement that saved her life so that she could stand happily and healthily right in front of him.

She had lived through the first decade, and she could live through one more decade, two more decades or even five more decades.

During the past ten years, Mu Qing had spent endless efforts and a lot of money on studying cancer cells. In fact a cancer cell studying unit had been established under his guidance at the hospital. They worked day and night just to overcome world’s difficult most issue and he attended the prestigious cancer forum every year with Mu Wensheng. With his outstanding gift and endless efforts, he was approaching his goal gradually.

The cancer control center of Germany had killed the cancer cells in Zhao Anan’s body twice through the combination of chemotherapy and drugs, so that she recovered.

If the Germans could do it, Mu Qing believed that he could make it happen too.

Zhao Anan’s mother and grandmother had hoped that she marries him, because he was a top notch doctor who could keep Zhao Anan safe from all illnesses.

That was Mu Qing’s responsibility and it was his honor too.

He hoped that the woman he loved could keep him company until they were old and that he could keep her healthy and happy throughout their entire life.

Mu Qing felt thronged with emotions, but Zhao Anan was dancing around without much load in mind. She carried a plate of food to the living room and wanted Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen to taste the food which she had made.

“Ning, try and see if it tastes good. I made it!”

Shangguan Ning looked at the minced meat with eggplants on the plate in her hand in disbelief. “Did you really make it, Anan? It looks very good. You are going to become an excellent chef.”

She said as she put a piece into her mouth. “Tasty! It is so tasty!”

Zhao Anan smiled so broadly that her eyes narrowed down to slits. “Haha, I am good, am I not? Mu was just instructing standing next to me and I could make such tasty food. I can even open a restaurant tomorrow!”

Shangguan Ning smiled too. “Of course, your restaurant will be thronged with guests if you are the chef. But I hope that you can cook as well as you did today.”

Shangguan Ning was not silly. She was well aware of Zhao Anan’s culinary skills. She was a woman who couldn’t tell sugar from salt and it would be a total disaster if she was the chef. She had realized that Zhao Anan couldn’t possibly have made the dish and that she must have been an assistant to Mu Qing – she had simply taken credit for his creation.

Overexcited, Zhao Anan never grasped what Shangguan Ning meant. She carried the plate to Jing Yichen. “Try, I made it, very tasty!””

Without lifting the eyes, Jing Yichen said calmly, “I have a high palate. I can’t taste a dish like this. You better get back to the kitchen with your plate.”

Zhao Anan glared at him and mumbled when he was not paying attention. “Always so critical, just like a spoiled Master! I didn’t see you picking on the grass roots and the insects my uncle forced you to eat. Bah, better let you starve to death!”

Jing Yichen had a pair of sharp ears. He looked up, frightening Zhao Anan who dashed off to the kitchen instantly.

It was a lively time in the kitchen and people standing there felt happy inside.

Shangguan Ning looked at the couple who were busy in the kitchen through the glass door. No one had asked Jing Yichen to get involved. She had thought that Jing Yichen should offer to make at least a dish rather than leaving everything to Mu Qing and Zheng Jing.

But seeing them two work in such harmony, she felt that she better let her exhausted husband take some rest and eat the food instead.

What Shangguan Ning didn’t know was that even if she had asked Jing Yichen to make the food, he would have still been turned down by Zheng Jing and Mu Qing!
